Boateng, Partey Star As Ghana Beat Japan

Ghana beat Japan 2-0 in a friendly game at the Nissan Stadium in on Wednesday

Captain Thomas Partey’s scored from a beautiful freekick on the 9th minute to break  the deadlock.

Emmanuel Boateng who was having his senior national team debut converted a penalty on 51 minutes after he was brought down on 50th minute.

Ghana started the game slowly in the first five minutes as the Japanese used their pace to pose threats but Ghana gained grounds to get their balance to dominate with some fine passes.

Levante forward Emmanuel Boateng was brought down by Tomoaki Makino at the edge of the 18-yard box after he received a pass to surge forward.

In-form Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey beautifully curled the ball to bottom corner to put Ghana in front on the 9th minute.

Ghana performance went down as Japan started to mount a spirited display in a bid to equalize but  the Blackstars were solid enough to keep their opponent at bay after creating several opportunities.

The first half ended with Japan being the most determined side.

The second half began with wonderful displays by both sides, on the 50th minute, Emmanuel Boateng was brought down in the box by keeper Eiji Kwashima after a pass from Thomas Partey.

Boateng stepped up to convert the penalty to double the lead for Ghana on 51st minute.

The Japanese stuck to their game plan from the beginning with their pacey display but it was not enough to at least give them a consolation goal as Ghana wrapped up the game.

The Blackstars will now play against Iceland on June 7.
