The initiative led by East Legon District Police Commander, Supt. Cephas Arthur, is to alert the public about the increasing crime wave involving the use of motor bikes among others.

He said a major challenge residents of East Legon face is street robbery and residential robbery hence the need to empower the public with personal security knowledge.

Supt. Arthur was hopeful the knowledge they get will make them take measures to avoid being robbed.

“We have been able to fight robbery and it has reduced drastically but it is still occurring. The traditional fight against robbery like patrols alone cannot do the tricks so we need to empower the residents so they put personal security measures in place to avert robbery.”

The East Legon police are also tackling issues of traffic on the roads by enlightening drivers on road signs and rules. The police have engaged the MTTU personnel to assist and manage the traffic.
