Gov’t Projects 5 Billion GHS On Free SHS Policy By 3rd Year Of Implementation

Government has projected to spend five (5) billion Ghana Cedis on the free second cycle education by the third year of the policy’s implementation.

About 400 million Ghana Cedis will be spent on the policy in the next academic year, beginning next month, while the expenditure is estimated to increase to one point-six billion Ghana Cedis next year.

A Deputy Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah who made this known to GBC’s Garden City Radio in Kumasi, explained that government will be absorbing an amount of 734 Ghana Cedis and one thousand one hundred Ghana Cedis being the first term fees of first year Day and Boarding students spanning the period September and December this year.
