Second Cycle schools in the three regions of the north are to re-open by May 23. This follows the release of feeding grants by government.
The re-opening of the schools were postponed by the Heads of about 72 government assisted schools following unpaid arrears of feeding grants.
Yesterday, the Finance Ministry issued a statement that it had released an amount of 106 million Cedis to clear outstanding arrears and part payment for this academic year.
The Northern Regional President of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools, Wilberforce Adam who spoke to XYZ News off record says, many of their colleagues are waiting for the money to hit their accounts.
