A/R: Police Arrest 3 For Robbing Mobile Money Merchant

Police at the Ejisu Divisional Command in the Ashanti Region have arrested three(3) persons for allegedly robbing an MTN Mobile Money Merchant.

Police say the suspects; Sylvester Frimpong,21,Charles Sarpong, 23 and Richmond Abban, 25 broke into the victim’s room and robbed him of an amount of One Thousand Seven Hundred Ghana CEDI’s(GHC1700) and a Samsung Mobile Phone.

Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng, who confirmed the arrest on Wednesday September 20 said “whiles the victim was asleep the suspects broke into his room and ordered him at knife point to surrender all his daily sales or risked being killed”.

ASP Obeng said the police,arrested one Charles Sarpong, also known as Gangster, who according to the victim knows him in the community as one of the suspects.

“Whilst at the police station, Sylvester Frimpong and Richmond Abban rushed to the charge office to visit Charles Sarpong and were also identified by the complainant as accomplices and were subsequently arrested. They are also assisting police in investigations, she added.
