Alex Tetteh’s plea was not taken and was remanded in police custody to reappear in court on February 27.
According to the prosecution, Tetteh was arrested when he attempted selling the human head, on Tuesday, at Sankro, a village near Dixcove, in the Ahanta West District.
Two accomplices are on the run, it added.
Giving the facts, the prosecution said, at about 5.17 p.m. on Tuesday, the Dixcove police arrested Tetteh and sent him to the Agona Nkwanta Police station, together with the head of the 12-year-old boy.
The prosecution said that the suspect was earlier arrested by some residents of Sankro, a village near Dixcove, when he was searching for a potential buyer of the head.
“Tetteh claimed to have cut the head of the boy at Bogoso with his two accomplices. He was placed in police custody while the human head concealed in a black polythene bag had been conveyed to the Effia Nkwanta Reginal Hospital for preservation,” the court heard.
