Ejisu Kidnapping: 2 arrested, Young Patriots Suspect Foul Play

Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the sudden disappearance of one Osei Kwaku, a polling station executive of Kokobra electoral area at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.

The two are currently assisting police in their investigations. Police say they received information Tuesday afternoon of the incident.

Sources at the police headquarters say two complainants, Kwabena Agyemang and Osei Kwame both NPP members of Fumasua electoral area reported that, about 13:00hrs GMT, suspects Kwame Adom Boakye and George Appiah Kubi, the Research & Elections officer and Deputy Constituency organiser respectively of Ejisu NPP together with four (4) stout men on board an Opel Astra Taxi with Registration number AE 2173-13 and a Hyundai Tucson car with registration number AS 3898-15, besieged the Kokobra electoral area where the party’s polling station registration exercise was on-going.

The four stout men bundled  Osei Kwaku, the polling station coordinator of the party into the Taxi and sped off.

Suspects Kwame Adom Boakye and George Appiah Kubi were arrested and upon interrogation claimed that the victim was escorted to Onwe Electoral area for the victim to retrieve NPP’s polling station register, however, they left the victim at Onwe and have no knowledge about his whereabouts.

Police made a follow-up to the Onwe polling station in search of the victim but he was not found.

Foul Play

Meanwhile some members of the Ejisu-Juaben branch of Young Patriots, a youth wing in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) suspects foul play.

They have given a 24 hour ultimatum for the Ejisu-Juaben member of Parliament to either produce Osei Kwaku or face their wrath.

Executive Member of Young Patriots Dominic Dankwah spoke to XYZ News ahead of a press conference later today.
