GJA Set For Friday Polls As Election Committee Releases Details

The 2017 GJA Elections Committee has slated Friday September 29 for its National and Regional elections of new national and regional executives of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

It said the election will start from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

It asked eligible voters to produce a GJA identification card or any National Identification Card and also asked members to visit the Association’s website –www.gjaghana.org for details on the Voter’s Register as well as the various polling stations.

A press release signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Ben Batabe Assorow said members in good standing who would not be available to cast their vote may send a note duly signed for someone who is a member of association and in good standing to vote for them.

Other committee members include Kwasi Kpodo, secretary, Sylvia Annor, member and Osei Kwadwo member.

The release asked candidates to submit the names of their polling agents to the Election Committee by 1700 hours on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

The Polling Centres for Greater Accra and Tema would be: The Press Centre, Ghana News Agency (GNA), Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Ghanaian Times, Daily Graphic and Obonu FM for Tema.

The polling centres for the regions include GNA for Volta, Press centre for the Western, Electoral Commission for the Eastern and Brong Ahafo, Information Service for Upper East, Press Centre for Upper West, GBC for Northern region and Daily Graphic for the Central region.
