The Police Hospital has served notice of its intention to hold a mass burial of 120 unclaimed bodies at its mortuary if their families don’t come for them within 21 days.
The Police offered the families the opportunity to show up at the Police Hospital from last Wednesday, November 8, to identify and claim the bodies.
A statement issued by the Police Hospital urged families whose relatives have gone missing for some time now to also take advantage to visit the facility to check for possible identification and collection.
The bodies are that of persons who are either taken to the facility in critical conditions by strangers and eventually die or persons killed in road accidents and armed robberies among others.
The statement signed by Deputy Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, CPL Faustina Afia Nunekpeku said, “the exercise, forms part of routine measures to decongest the Police Hospital mortuary.
