The Assin South District Police in the Central region have begun investigations into the circumstances surrounding the murder of the Chief Linguist of Abura Dunkwa, Okyeame Kojo Ankomah and his wife Ohemaa Efuah.
Reports say residents of the town have been thrown into a state of shock following news of the alleged killing of the couple.
The two, according to Starr News, had their throat slashed by the unknown assailant in their room Sunday night.
Their bodies were discovered Monday morning by their son, who on leaving for work, wanted to take his pocket money from his parents, who failed to respond to his calls on their door.
The boy subsequently broke into the room only to find his parents murdered in cold blood.
The bodies have since been picked by the police for further investigations.
The murder is not the first of its kind in the region in recent times. Barely two months ago, a 37 year old man was picked by the Awutu Bereku Police for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend, Mary Tetteh.
Isaac Bonnie, the suspect is said to have killed her ex lover a month after he ended their reletionship. Police said Bonnie allegedly attacked Mary and killed her while she was washing in the house of her new lover at Gomoa Nkwantanan near Awutu Bereku on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.
It is believed the suspect who was a mason could not stand the new relationship her ex lover had entered in.
