Traders and hawkers at the Madina market in the Adenta Municipality were thrilled as staff of Power 97.9FM transmitted their major programmes from the market on Wednesday.
It was part of the new station’s plan to interact with its listeners within its transmission vicinity.
Listeners who have been contributing to the programmes officer the East Legon- based radio station had the opportunity to meet with the voices that dominate the airwaves on daily basis.
Kaakyire Kwesi Appea-Apraku, the host of the breakfast show, Dwaboase, hosted the MP for the area, Abubakar Boniface Saddique who is also the minister for Inner Cities and Zongo Development.
Some challenges in Madina and it’s environs were tabled before Mr Saddique, who promised a better life for ZONGO residents across the country.
“Education, Infrastructure development and empowerment of the local people is what the Zongo Development fund will do, ” assured the MP.
One of the most listened to programmes, ‘Power Drive‘, pulled lots of crowd, as the host, Agyemang Prempeh Agyengo and his team arrived there in the afternoon.
“Agyemang Nie, Power Nie!” was chanted by onlookers who admired Agyengo’s way of presentation at the full glare of the hundreds of people.
As unpredictable as he is, he brought to his show, powerful worshipers, Willie and Mike, whose spirit-filled song ministration intoxicated almost everybody who watched them.
The icing on the cake was when the controversial co-host of the programme, Original Osei Kwame, stole the show with his appearance.
Of course, he came with his wife, who held many spell bound.
As typical of Original, whose bragging on air has earned him the name “Osikani“, he was clad in white apparel to signify that he, indeed, was from Afghanistan as he’s always said.
The team will be in a different locality in Accra soon to engage listeners.
