Two persons who attempted selling human head to a spiritualist have been arrested by police in the Ashanti regional capital.

The suspects have been identified as Vikuniba Joe Zoot, 21 and Borama Kozel 25.

Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah told journalists on Friday, March 9, 2018 that the suspects were arrested for their involvement in the beheading of a 5-year-old boy identified as Silas Kunsana at Ampabame, near Sokoban in Kumasi.

“The command at about 7:00pm had information that the suspects all from Tongo in the Upper East Region had approached Sheik Alhaji Mohammed Maaye, a spiritualist at Suame to sell human parts to him”

The spiritualist feigned interest and agreed to pay an amount of two thousand five hundred cedis(GHC 2,500) to them after collection”, COP Ken Yeboah stated.

The Regional Police Chief indicated that the police proceeded to the Suame Zongo residence of the spiritualist and arrested the suspects who were in possession of the fresh head which was concealed in a black
polythene bag.

COP Ken Yeboah explained that further investigations revealed that at about 6:00pm on March 7,2018, the two suspects were roaming at Suame roundabout where they met the deceased.

“They approached the deceased and lured him with yogurt. They hired a taxi and pushed him in. Then they took him to an uncompleted building with a butcher’s knife and beheaded the deceased”, Mr Ken Yeboah explained.

“We also noticed that both hands had been cut off when the headless body was found”, he indicated.

The decapitated body has been sent to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue.

Meanwhile police indicated that the suspects have been charged with murder and will be arraigned before court.
