Former Trades and Industry Minister, Murtala Mohammed, has asked president Nana Akufo to produce a blueprint to serve as guidelines towards the achievement of the Ghana beyond aid programme.
The President has been encouraging Ghanaians to support his government to develop the country beyond foreign aid.
In his speech at the 61st Independence Day Celebration in Accra last Tuesday, president Akufo-Addo said: ” . . .Ghana Beyond Aid is meant to be more than a slogan. It is meant to propel us into the frame of mind that would quicken our pace of development. It is meant to change our mindset from one of dependency, to one of achieving our destiny. It is meant to put us in charge of our own affairs, and make us truly independent. Above all, Ghana Beyond Aid will give us the respect and dignity we deserve.”

But Mr Mohammed, who is also the Member of Parliament for Nantong believes the much touted campaign needs much clarity from government.
Speaking on Radio Gold’s Alhaji and Alhaji Programme on Saturday, the MP said “though the president has made his intention clear to towards the achievement of Ghana beyond aid but without a blueprint to serve as guidelines towards the achievement of such a goal then I doubt the presidents resolve to achieve that goal.”
