GHS Director-General Donates Medical Equipment To Trede Health Centre

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare, has donated an incubator and a patient monitor to the Trede Health Centre at Trede in the  Atwima Kwanwoma district in the Ashanti Region.

Dr Nsiah Asare said the gesture was part of his outfit’s continued efforts to support the Health Service to deliver efficient health care services to the people of Ghana and to strengthen the capacity to respond to health problems.

At  a brief handover ceremony which took place at the health centre, the Director-General urged the managers of facility and the district to work towards “zero tolerance for maternal death”.
On her part, the District Health Director, Mrs. Comfort Suglo, also assured that the medical equipment would be put to good use to the benefit of all the people in the locality.She also disclosed that “the district recorded no maternal death last year” and promised to continue to work to ensure that the zero tolerance for maternal deaths is realised in 2018 and beyond.

Present at the handover ceremony were a Council Member of the Ghana Health Service, Dr Sefah Bediako; Director of Family Health, Dr Patrick Aboagye; the Regional Health Director, Dr Emmanuel Tinkorang and his Regional Health Management Team as well as the District Health Management Team.
