The huge crowd that mobs former president H.E John Dramani Mahama wherever he goes is an indication that he is the peoples’ choice for election 2020, Dr Japhet Baidoo has observed.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Organiser for Western Region was speaking on Inside Politics, a political talk show on Radio XYZ 93.1, hosted by Mugabe Maase when he said Mr Mahama is capable of winning power for the umbrella party.
“I have been with him throughout his tour in the Western region,” he noted and disclosed that the people in the region have endorsed the candidature of the former president.

“The way the people, chiefs and party members welcomed him in the areas he visited shows that he is the right choice for us” said Dr Baidoo.
He went on to say the people in almost all the areas he visited did not make it possible for Mr Mahama to meet delegates in closed doors, adding “they made sure the venues were changed.”
He said Ghanaians are fed up with the administration of Nana Akufo-Addo because he “lied to Ghanaians,” stressing that “He just came to tell us to try him, yet he could not deliver as promised.”
“Today the hardship is unbearable. The people have seen it so we won’t try anybody again. Our man, John Mahama, will not tell us to try him. We know him and the people have shown that he is the best,” the Organiser stated.
Mr Mahama is seeking to be given the mandate to be the flag bearer of the NDC, following his defeat in the 2016 general elections.
Within his party, the former president is being contested by three (3) of his former appointees – Ekow Spio-Garbrah, former Trades and Industry Minister; Mr Alban Sumana Bagbin, a former Health Minister and former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NIA), Sylvester Mensah.
The others who successfully filed to be in the flag bearer race are Alhassan Nurideen and a cadre, Augustus Goosie Tano.
The former President is on a five-day campaign tour of the Western Region to seek the mandate of delegates to lead the NDC to victory in the 2020 elections.
Among other things, Mr John Mahama has also promised to complete the remainder of the 200 Community Day Senior High Schools, which were started by his government and has been abandoned by the current administration, and create sustainable jobs for the people.
