As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Ghana’s number one Total Food Care Company, Papaye Fast Foods Limited on Thursday, November 29, 2018 honoured 864 pupils from thrirty-three (33) public and private basic schools for their academic performance in their respective schools.
At the 2018 Papaye Excellence Awards dubbed “OUR DAY SPECIAL” for the pupils, each of the students was presented with a branded T-shirt and education materials for their studies.
In his address, the Chief Executive Officer, Divine Asiedu, indicated that the selection of the award winners was based on a set of comprehensive assessment criteria by their schools, including reflective thinking, positive values as well as initiative and creativity.
He said “Papaye has annually, consistently organized this programme with the sole aim of championing excellence. Each year, we bring the best three pupils in a class per-basic one to JHS Three in selected schools within the Accra/Tema Metropolis and we celebrate them for their academic performance and encourage them by giving them educational materials to enhance their learning, indeed the height they have attained has not been by sudden flight; but while their companions slept they toiled in the night, and thus deserve to be celebrated’’.
Advising the awardees, Mr.Asiedu said “you have to pick a place and time to learn,study everyday, plan your time, discover your learning style, take breaks, ask for help, stay motivated and take good care of yourselves.”
The Special Guest of Honour, Acting Deputy Chief Executive in charge of Operations at the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ekow Sampson, praised the management of Papaye Fast Food Limited for the initiative it took in improving education in the country.
