The leadership of the Concerned Voters’ Movement on Monday October, 2 2017, petitioned the President, Economic and Organised Crime Office(EOCO), Bureau of National Investigations(BNI), and Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) to launch investigations into the conduct of the Director General of NLA, Mr. Kofi Osei-Ameyaw, the Board and Management of NLA.
The Leadership at a press conference accused the Director-General of gross insubordination and taking unilateral decisions to enrich himself at the expense the state.
The leadership of CVM also accused the Director-General of plagiarizing the works of Gaming Commission, Veterans Administration,Ghana to draft the Lotto and Lotteries Authority Bill, which was aimed at scraping the Gaming Commission from operating.
The Founder and President of the Concerned Voters’ Movement Razak Kojo-Poku, said: “We are also a research based institution to protect the public purse from some Directors of institutions who are keen to rip the nation of its benefits. And therefore, we do hope that the authorities we have petitioned today, will expedite action on the issues raised in the Petition and sanction accordingly” he explained.
Responding to questions why he failed to petition EOCO, CHRAJ, BNI and so on before resorting to the press, he said, CVM shelved some of its information to enable EOCO and the other institutions work effectively.
He was quick to warn that, CVM would let out more informations about the corrupt deals at NLA should the institutions they have petitioned fail to do a diligent job.
“We’ll spew out the information we shelved for the public to do their own assessment if BNI, EOCO and CHRAJ refuse to do its work properly”, he stated.
Receiving the petition on behalf of the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office, the Administrative Clark of EOCO who gave his name as Cephas, assured of prompt delivery.
