NPP Gov’t Not Serious- Ayariga

The founder and flag bearer of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga,  has disclosed that the New Patriotic Party government needs no praises for their performance so far.

Mr Ayariga in an interview with Morning Xpress on Radio XYZ ahead of the 2018 budget presentation, on Wednesday, said there is nothing extraordinary to be presented to Ghanaians, looking at how the Akufo-Addo government has failed woefully to put up policies that will “benefit” the country.

Government since the inauguration of President Akufo-Addo has launched some policies expected to change the lives of Ghanaians such as the One District, One Factory; Free Senior High school; One village, One Dam; Planting for Foods and Jobs among others.

Mr Ayariga,  however, thinks government rushed to launch these projects without them being of any help to Ghanaians.  He argued that the Planting for Foods and Jobs has failed to live up to its mandate because it was launched when the planting season had almost ended.

On the ‘One million dollars for each constituency’ annually as promised by government, Mr Ayariga said, that promise is a lie since no constituency has even received a quarter of the amount, adding that there has not been a single dam that has been built to give a facelift to the Agricultural sector, as was promised to Ghanaians.

“If I say I’ll give you  one million dollars and we get down and I give you one cedi, would you take me serious? If I give you 500, 000 dollars then you will know I’m doing something,” he told host of the show,  Prince Minkah.

He said President Akufo-Addo is rushing to do things that will not benefit the country, adding that “even the  School Feeding Programme is not working, how much more Free SHS?”

He held out that the President at 73, could lay a good foundation that could lead to the implementation of live-changing policies rather than saying he is in a hurry.

” At age 73 why are you in a hurry? Hurry to where? Ghana is taking off to hell! To me,  I’m patient to see Ghana to progress if I put the right structures for someone to continue it. If u rush to take off, you’ll Summersault and fall.”
