The Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Ejura, Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Bamba, has denied claim that some two persons picked up by the police in connection with the murder of social media activist are linked to his office.
Ibrahim Mohammed also known as Kaaka, was attacked by a mob Saturday night and later died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Monday.
His death angered the youth in the area, leading to a protest Tuesday morning to demand justice for Kaaka’s family.
At least 3 have been gunned down with several others injured as the irate youth clashed with security personnel who had come to Ejura to calm the situation.
Some residents have blamed Alhaji Bamba for the clash, saying he took no step to engage the youth about the death.
Others have linked the unknown assailants to him because Kaaka was almost always one of the people who spoke truth to local authorities.
But Mr Bamba vehemently disagrees with the views of the aggrieved Youth.
He told Kojo Yankson in a Joy News TV interview monitored by Myxyzonline.com that he knew nothing about the suspected criminals in Police custody.
“I don’t know them…they don’t work for me,” he added.
When asked about whether or not the activities of Kaaka on social media were against him, Bamba said he didn’t know about the social media activities of the deceased.
“I’ve not gone to social media after we won the elections,” he added.
The government appointee further indicated that he is ready to be subjected to any probe in connection with the murder and its unrest.
