Police say they have detained Bono Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, AKA Abronye DC.
This comes after Police invited him in connection with a statement he made on Accra-based Hot FM about former president John Mahama.
In his submissions, the loud NPP communicator suggested that former Mr Mahama was preparing to overthrow the Akufo-Addo government.
Police statement said investigations made into the claim revealed that Abronye published false news.
He will be arraigned before court tomorrow, February 16, 2022.
