Akufo-Addo finally responds to Martin Amidu’s resignation – Check out what he had to say

The President of Ghana H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has finally replied to the former Special Prosecutor Martin A.B.K Amidu’s resignations from office.

The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has issued a press release to that effect, stressing that the President had accepted the resignation of the Special Prosecutor in good faith.

However, in respect of the issues raised by Mr. Martin Amidu, the assurance given by the President is to have them addressed as soon as possible.

The President, according to the release will provide detailed feedback to the matters stated by the resigned investigator in due time.

“President Akufo-Addo has taken due notice of the other matters raised by the Special Prosecutor in his letter of resignation, and the presidency will issue a detailed response to them shortly.”

The President has also instructed that the Chief of Staff engages the former Special Prosecutor to address any outstanding issues due to him as stated in his resignation letter.

“The President has directed the Chief of Staff to contact Mr. Martin Amidu to resolve all outstanding matters consequent upon his resignations.”

Among many others, Martin Amidu stated that his, as well as the Deputy’s emolument and other benefits due him, has never been honoured since they took office in May 2018.
