President Nana Akufo-Addo’s Municipal Chief Executive nominee for Yendi has been rejected by the constituent body of the Yendi Municipal Assembly.
Out of the 42-member Assembly, Alhaji Ahmed Yussif Abubakar (Alhaji Koms) secured 20 Yes votes as against 21 No votes.
He, thus, failed to cross the two-thirds endorsement line.
Regional Minister Shani Alhassan Shayibu was present at the voting process.
Alhaji Koms was among the 260 metropolitan, municipal and district chief executive nominees announced by the Minister of Local Government and Decentralistion, Mr Dan Botwe, on Sunday, 19 September 2021.
