Ama Benyiwah-Doe Was Champion Of Women’s Rights – Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has bemoaned the sudden demise of NDC stalwart, Ama Benyiwah-Doe clothing her as a neuter activist who fought for the equal rights of women.

The 2020 Presidential flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr Mahama made the statement in a post on Facebook.

“I have received with deep sadness, news of the demise of one of the most inspirational icons to have served our party , the NDC ,and this great Nation.

“She was not only a politician , but also a gender activist and champion of women’s rights.Ama Benyiwah-Doe was an embodiment of limitless courage, commitment and passion for service.

“May her soul rest in eternal glory”

Ama Benyiwah-Doe met her sudden demise on Sunday morning at Tema.

The NDC stalwart has been frail in recent times and moved away from active politics until her demise.


She served as National Democratic Congress MP for Gomoa West from 1992 to 2004.
