Amaarae features on ‘Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack

Ghanaian alter singer Amaarae, has been featured on the first tracklist of Marvel Studio’s upcomingp movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The soundtrack EP Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Prologue was released by Hollywood Records and Marvel Music on Monday, July 25.

Amaarae sang the second track on the three-track EP. The track called ‘A body, A Coffin’, despite its name is an upbeat Afrobeat-inspired track.

A few days ago, Marvel Studios unveiled the trailer for November’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever to eager fans, who roared their approval in a boisterous session at Comic-Con in San Diego.

The film is the sequel to 2018’s Black Panther, which starred the late Chadwick Boseman who played the heroic crime-fighting king of Wakanda, a fictional African country with incredibly advanced technology.

The EP features Tems‘ cover of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “No Woman No Cry”.  Tems’ “No Woman No Cry” was first heard (and mixed in with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright”) during the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever teaser that was released over the weekend during San Diego Comic-Con.

The movie, which is set for theatrical release on Nov. 11, features Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke and more reprising their roles from the 2018 superhero movie as well as new faces, such as Michaela Coel and Tenoch Huerta.
