Twenty-nine (29) persons who were arrested during the Arise Ghana’s #KromAyeShe demonstration which turned violent, have all been granted bail, according to their lawyers.
There were earlier reports that the accused had been denied bail more than 48 hours after their arrest.
Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba, who confirmed this in an interview with Power News said one of the suspects was granted bail yesterday on medical grounds.
“I can tell you on record that the CID has granted bail to all the 28 persons who were arrested during the Tuesday, Arise Ghana Demonstration and let me add that one of the accused person was sick so the police granted him bail yesterday,” Amaliba explained.
He added ….“the accused persons have different stories to tell, as some claim to be passer bys, others say they are driver mates but the most important thing is that we have been able to secure bail for all of them.”
Lawyer Amaliba however told Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman on Power Midday news the Police will release his clients only after meeting bail terms.
