Some armed police officials and National Security personnel have surrounded the Believers House of Prayer Church where the Member of Parliament (MP), Francis Xavier Sosu, worships to arrest him.
It is believed they are there to pick him up over a demonstration he led to protest the bad roads in his constituency last week.
Some police personnel attempted to arrest him during the protest at the Oyarifa-Danfa areas but he resisted the armed men who had taken over his vehicle.
He subsequently lodged an official complaint in Parliament on 26 October,2021 against the Accra Regional Director of Police Operations, Isaac Asante.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin referred the matter to the Privileges Committee to invite the police to answer some questions.
Before the Committee could convene, the police went to the MP’s church to arrest him.
Mr Sosu has confirmed to Ghanaweb that the armed men invaded his church Sunday afternoon to arrest him.
The Police is yet to officially communicate on the matter.
