Augustine Okrah joins Tanzanian side Simba

Tanzanian giants Simba SC have officially announced the signing of Ghanaian attacker Augustine Okrah from Bechem United for an undisclosed amount.

Simba reached an agreement with the Ghana Premier League for the services of the experienced Ghanaian forward ahead of the 2022-23 season about a month ago.

Okrah signed a contract with the Lions of Msimbazi that will keep him until 2024, after passing his medical examination and agreeing on personal terms.

The 28-year-old returned to Bechem at the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign after parting ways with Asante Kotoko SC.

He has been instrumental for the Hunters this season since he rejoined them where he recorded 14 goals in 32 matches in the Ghana Premier League with Bechem finishing at the 3rd position, the club’s best position in the Ghanaian top-flight since joining the Ghana elite side.

Okrah has also been the important figure for Bechem, having helped them reach the finals of the FA Cup as he scored a screamer in the semi-finals against Aduana Stars.

He scored 3 goals in 5 games in the cup competition.

He was top scorer of the Ghana Premier League in the 2013-14 season with 16 goals during his first stint with Bechem.

Okrah later moved to Swedish side BK Hacken on loan before joining Sudanese giants Al Merreikh the following year.

He crossed carpet to join rivals Al Hilal Omdurman after a season.

He has also played for NorthEast United in India and Egyptian side Smouha SC.
