Awutu Senya West MP grants scholarships to 30 tertiary students

The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West, Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui has presented the first batch of scholarships to 30 students in various tertiary institutions.

This is her initiative to develop human capital in her constituency.

This is an honour to the MP’s campaign promise of providing scholarships for students in her constituency who want to climb the academic lather.

Out of the 30 beneficiaries transparently selected from various communities across the constituency, 11 are females and 19 are males.

Speaking at a short ceremony to present the scholarships to the needy but brilliant students at the District Education Office at Awutu Breku Thursday, 24th June 2021, the MP reiterated her promise to enhance education in the area.

“I place value on education and human capital development. It is for this reason that I make commitments towards supporting education in Awutu Senya West. I pledge to continue prioritizing education and make support systems available so you can make the best out of your studies,” Madam Tetteh-Agbotui said.

On his part, the District Director of Education, Isaac Godwin Acquaah-Arhin praised the MP for her kind gesture and pointed out that it is the first time he has been invited to such a programme in the district.

He again encouraged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the support and study hard.

The beneficiaries also expressed their appreciation to the legislator for the educational support given them and pledged to make the district proud.

Dignitaries present were Nai Kwesi Arhin, Gyasihene of Awutu Traditional Council; Daniel Ako, Constituency Chairman of the NDC; District Assembly representatives, members of religious bodies, and some executives of the MP’s party, the NDC.
