Juno 7 news website reports Mr Moise was killed after a group of “unidentified Spanish-speaking individuals” broke in. He was “mortally wounded” and his wife is said to have been injured by a gunshot wound, it added

The Caribbean country has been suffering a political crisis in recent months with hundreds marching through Port-au-Prince in February calling for the end of the current government.

It has long been marred by poverty and political instability, and struggled to rebuild after an earthquake in 2010 and Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
