Black Galaxies have qualified for the Quarter finals of the CHAN 2022 tournament after getting six points to place second in Group C.
The team will face winner of Group E after Tuesday’s last round of group matches.
Ghana lost their first match by 2-1 to Madagascar but went ahead to win the second game 3-1 over Sudan to record qualification for the next phase behind group toppers Madagascar who had nine points.
CAF awarded other three teams three points plus three goals after Morocco failed to show up at the tournament due to political flight issues with host nation Algeria.
Black Galaxies will now face winner of Group E either Cameroon or Niger – who will player their final group decider on Tuesday evening.
Ghana will travel from their camp based Constantine to Oran in Algeria to play their quarter-final match on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
This is the third time Ghana have made it to the knockout phase of the tournament since 2014 and earlier in 2009.
Captain Gladson Awako returned from injury he suffered in the Madagascar game to join the team to train at Stade Mohammed Hamlaoui Annex in Constantine.
