Cross check your facts to avoid arrest – CID to Journalists

Head of Legal and Prosecution at the CID headquarters DSP Sylvester Asare has urged journalists to cross check their facts to avoid arrest.

According to DSP Asare, indeed there’s freedom of speech but one needs to cross check  their facts before airing it out to the public.

“There’s freedom of speech true,  but before making any statement check it’s circumstance including the media houses if you want to produce a particular statement crosscheck your facts“, he said.

On my Lawyer my counselor show hosted by Daakyehene Ofosu Agyeman the head of legal and prosecution revealed that “If you just wake up do any shallow journalism don’t complain if we (police) deal with you. We are not harassing anybody we are just enforcing the law that’s the exactly what we are doing”

Nevertheless, false publication was not implemented by IGP Dampare, it has been in existence since 1960.
