Depression: Call On Veterans To Check Up On Them — Amankwah Ampofo

Ace broadcaster, Amankwah Ampofo is urging Ghanaians to regularly check up on veteran celebrities in the country.

Speaking on depression among celebrities, especially veterans on Power Entertainment hosted by Agyemang Prempeh on Power 97.9FM on Saturday, 28 November 2020, he stated that veterans need the comfort of the public to survive.

The legendary radio and television personality stated the veterans have contributed their quota to the growth and the success the creative arts industry continues to chalk, hence, need the people’s help at this stage of their lives.

Amankwah Ampofo indicated that although the negligence of successive governments have rendered most veterans like pauper, money is not solely their need.

The retired GBC broadcaster said people should not ignore phone calls from veterans with the assumption that they are begging for financial assistance.

Instead he said they are readjusting to normal life and need of others, however, answering their calls encourages and makes them feel they are important in the society.

The legendary broadcaster, however, called on the public to make it a priority to check up on veteran celebrities.
