E/R: Retired Police officer found dead on his farm

A 64-year-old retired Police officer has been found dead on his own farm in Asitey mountains in Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.

Reports says ,ASP (rtd) Peter Kwadjo Tawiah left home early Thursday morning at about 7:00 am to work on his farm but could not return.

The family led by John Teye Oboaba, brother of the deceased, logged an official complaint at Odumase Police station at exactly 7:30 pm the same day.

Police officers were then dispatched to the farm and found the lifeless body of ASP (rtd) Tawiah lying in a supine position with a cutlass in his right hand.

After close examination of the body and taking inventories of the crime scene, he was conveyed to Atua government hospital where he was pronounced dead by doctors.

The body has since been deposited at the morgue of the hospital for autopsy and preservation.

The Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, explained that the preliminary examination of the body did not detect any marks of assault or inflicted wounds.

He, however, indicated that the Police Service is patiently awaiting for the autopsy report by medical doctors to ascertain the cause of death.
