EGLE party declares support for Mahama and NDC candidates

An opposition political party, the  Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere (EGLE) Party, has thrown its weight behind former president John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the December 7, 2020 elections.

Addressing the National Conference of the Party on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Accra, the General Secretary of the party, Mr David Arthur said their decision to join the NDC was borne out of the fact that the NDC has policies similar to the EGLE party.

“The National Democratic Congress led by President John Dramani Mahama and the EGLE part have so much in common. Consequently, the EGLE party upon reflection and thorough consultations with the rank and file, the founder, the grassroots, and the National Executive Committee unanimously agreed not to file candidates for both the Presidential and Parliamentary elections across the country, but rather mobilize all effort and command of the party to throw its weight behind His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress in this 2020 general elections,” Mr arthur said.

According to the party, the Akufo-Addo led government has failed Ghanaians woefully and did not deserve their support but rather the NDC, adding that Ghanaians voted against the NPP government.

“We have noticed that programmes by the EGLE party have been outlined in the people’s manifesto of the NDC, this shows that the two political parties share a common goal,” David Arthur said. “We cannot have four more years of corruption, Economic Mismanagement, Family and Friends, Rotten Agyapa deal, unnecessary borrowing, only to mention a few.”

Power FM’s Yaa Adubea Piesie reports the members of the party said they were happy EGLE  party had joined the NDC. They disclosed both parties  believe in development and the betterment of the country.

Addressing pressmen present at the Karma conference centre here in Accra, the Chairman for the party Kwaku Asare Agyekum urged his executives and party supporters to join in the campaign of the NDC to wrestle power from the the Akufo-Addo government.

He said the EGLEparty will deploy its members to join the NDC campaign team at the branch, constituency, regional and national level.

“Kicking out this corrupt and over bloated government is not just a necessity but a social intervention and communal labour,” Agyekum added.
