Ejura shooting incident: Akufo Addo glorifies Violence –Sam George fires

Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam Nartey George says the shootings by the supposed military that characterized the peaceful demonstration of the youth of Ejura shows that President Akufo Addo glorifies violence.

Speaking on the Gumbe Show on TV XYZ,the MP said with no concern for the lives of the innocent youth, the governing New Patriotic Party NPP unleashed thugs in military uniforms to shoot and Kill innocent people who are seeking Justice for their death colleague who was believed to be a critique of Nana Addo led government.

“All this is happening because NPP has packed the army with useless thugs. Some of them have been arrested as armed robbers,” he fumed as he bemoaned the clash.

At least 3 have died and 6 injured as a result of the sporadic shooting from men in military uniform.

Mr George indicated that, the president of the country is only interested in acquiring property for himself and leaving a profligate life style but seems not to care about the safety of the ordinary Ghanaians.

Mr George recounted that a similar  incident occurred at the Ayawaso west Wuogon bye elections where some Ghanaians were shot in the open without any prosecution.

He also recounted how some Ghanaians lost their lives during polls last year at the Abkekuma and Techiman without any action from the government.

“The only solution is to kick this inept NPP government of power. When people don’t have confidence in the security services it may breed Arab spring,” he told host Mugabe Maase when asked about the solution to the heightening insecurity in the country.

Mr George also lambasted the military for discharging their duty unprofessionally which has led to the death of unarmed citizens.

“It is sad because soldiers are not used for crowd control when there is FBU.This is exactly what happened at Techniman and till date the military has not been able to tell us who committed those heinous crimes” he added

According to him,the social media activist who was killed at Ejura that led to the protest on Monday was a sympathizer of the NPP who didn’t campaign for the MCE of Ejura, Salisu Bamba, leading to his attack last Saturday.

“This is what has led to his untimely demise. He campaigned for skirt and blouse and later realized that the Party NPP is not fulfilling it’s lofty promises thus unearthing the rots in the party” he asserted.

The MP fears that if the IGP is not changed the security of the Country will still be in limbo, adding Ghanaians will have nowhere to seek refuge when there’s disturbances in the country.
