Extend Domelovo’s contract if your Gov’t isn’t corrupt – Pelpuo tells Akufo-Addo

Member of Parliament for Wa Central Rashid Pelpuo has challenged Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to give Daniel Domelevo a contract to stay in office as an Auditor General if he’s not afraid that his corrupt deals will be exposed.

Daniel Domelevo was forced to retire last week after he returned from his accumulated leave that was sanctioned by Akufo-Addo in the run up to the 2020 elections.

According to the President, Daniel Domelevo was supposed to have retired in 2020 per his records with the SSNIT.

Rashid Pelpuo, MP for Wa Central.

His forced retirement was met with contempt because most Civil Society Organizations believe is an attempt by the government to cover up some dubious deals it is involved in.

Reacting to the forced retirement, Hon. Rashid Pelpuo said “I can’t imagine how bold Nana Ado was, looking Ghanaians in the face, removed the anti-corruption Auditor General from the office! If you’re not corrupt please let him get back to office and put him on contract”.

His comment may have been informed by the extension of the tenure of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Buanuh, in 2018.

Oppong-Boanuh who was then Deputy IGP was granted a one-year contract extension by President Akufo-Addo and he is still in office.
