President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 unveiled a design for the national cathedral to mark the 61st anniversary of the country.
When completed, the cathedral will serve as a national non-denominational Christian worship centre for the country and also serve as a venue to hold important religious functions.
Nana Akufo-Addo unveiled the design at the Accra International Conference Center,a year after a sod was cut to begin the project.
Speaking at the ceremony, the president expressed optimism that the cathedral would be used for the purposes of which it was provided.
Funding for the project will be sourced from the Christian community and Churches in the country.
Last year, an 11-member committee was tasked to raise funds for the project.
