Ghana trash Liberia in a friendly match

Ghana beat Liberia 3-1 in a friendly match at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Thanks to goals from Ernest Nuamah, Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew before the Liberians pulled one back in what became their consolation goal.

The first half witness a cagey match as very few chances were created but it was Antoine Semenyo who missed a fine opportunity on 42 minutes after taking the ball from the center circle to go solo.

The second half began with each sides poised to grab winner with Stephan Ambrosius coming on for Alex Djiku.

A fine pass from center back Nicholas Opoku located Ernest Nuamah in the six-yard box to calmly nutmeg the keeper to break the deadlock on 53 minutes.

Antoine Samenyo charged his opponent to win the ball with a fine pass locating Mohammed Kudus to double the lead on 59 minutes.

Ghana finished the game on the 83 minutes through Jordan Ayew tapping the ball home after a fine work rate from Dede Ayew to find Fatawu then laid the pass to Sowah to assist the scorer.

The win means Ghana wraps up the international break by wining all their matches scoring five goals and conceding two.

Last Thursday, Ghana beat Central African Republic 2-1 in Kumasi to qualify for the 2023 AFCON, topping the Grouo E with 12 points.

The payers will now head back to their respective club sides to continue their football in the coming weeks.
