Ghana’s economy needs breath of Gh¢100 billion to survive – Kojo Oppong Nkrumah

The information minister, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that government intends to have approximately 20 million of its citizenry vaccinated with Covid 19 jabs by the close of the year.

Addressing Journalists at a media interaction in Koforidua over the weekend, the member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi indicated that over one million persons have so far received the Covid 19 Jab.

He detailed that pragmatic measures are in place by the government of Ghana to produce it’s own Vaccines

Currently, the government is buying the Covid 19 Vaccines while foreign donors also supporting Ghana in the fight against the deadly pandemic.

He revealed that, the Covid 19 global crisis has degraded the wheels of Ghana’s economy and making living conditions of the ordinary Ghanaian difficult and that the recovery of the Economy needs some amount of Gh¢100 billion. With this, the private sector is expected to contribute Gh¢ 70 billion while government absorbs the remaining Gh¢30 billion.

On security issues, the minister hinted on terrorist activities particularly in the neighboring countries like Burkina Faso could have bad imprints on the country and the citizenry must be security conscious as the government is finding a lasting solution to address any terrorist arising predicament.

The Minister was utterly confident the installation of CCT Cameras, investment in security intelligence, recruitment of personnel into Ghana’s security services, and logistics will help fight any future terrorist attacks.
