I didn’t know how to drive when I was asked to play a drivers role in Taxi driver – TT

According to veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio popularly known as TT, he didn’t know how to drive when he was given the role as a taxi  driver.

Speaking with Agyemang Prempeh on LEGENDS the actor revealed that, a friend got him the role of a taxi driver in an upcoming tv series which he agreed to, though he didn’t know how to drive.

According to him, he started picking up some points from drivers anytime he sits in their car and also got help from some people close to him.

However he used the opportunity as a taxi  driver in the series to learn how to drive.

“After the movie killing me softly, then Emmanuel Appiah came to my house then he said Psalm I’ve got something for you . He said it’s called Taxi driver and you are going to drive. At that time I didn’t know how to drive .. I couldn’t drive but when he told me I was like okay I will give it a try .. it happened in the 90s

I didn’t know how to drive that time I was at Madina, Presec. But after he told me anytime I’m in the car I watch how the drivers move the car. So the person who bought the car for the village community came over and showed me how to drive .

Emmanuel Appiah who was the director also said TT ,look, when you are driving the stirring wheel is always stable . I remember my first film I was holding the stir and I was over stirring …So with the help of their tips, i was asked to move the car and was instructed to move if I hear action and turn back if I hear cut . so on set anytime I’m being asked to cut then I rather go far then they start insulting me. I was doing that cos when I get that far I will by all means stop and it gave me the advantage of changing the gears .. so i was learning whiles doing it ,within a month I was driving all over Accra.”
