‘I Don’t Have Possession Of Any State Vehicle’ – Agyenim Boateng Yells At NPP Propagandists

A former staffer at the office of the vice president during the erstwhile Mahama administration, James Agyenim Boateng has said he does not have in his possession any vehicle belonging to the state.

There are reports from the quarters of some ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists the current spokesperson for the campaign team of former president John Mahama has held onto a state vehicle that was assigned to him while he was a government appointee.

But in a statement rubbishing such claims, Mr Agyenim Boateng stated categorically that “For the avoidance of doubt, I do not have possession of any vehicle belonging to the state. Who does not know that armed soldiers from the seat of govenment stormed my home to forcibly collect two vehicles from me in February 2017?”

“Those vehicles were investigated by the Police CID headquarters, following which they were returned to me. Fortunately, the present head of Police CID was very much involved in that investigation and subsequent release of the cars,” he added.

To him, the rumours are being bandied to divert attention from the tour of the former president that is exposing the lies of the Akufo-Addo led government and its shortcomings.

“Apparently our folks in government haven’t got a thick skin (elephants without thick skin?) They are not only afraid of JM 2020, but they are also unable to take JM’s messages on the campaign tour.

It is also obvious that the notice we served on Vice President Bawumia in that press statement that we will respond to him in equal measure has unsettled them.”

He has vowed not to be “cowed” by the controversies which seeks to take his attention from his new role in Mr Mahama’s campaign.

“If this is intended to court controversy for me and to be cowed, then government got it all wrong!…In the mean time, the John Mahama 2020 campaign is thickening with thunderous support and goodwill. He is coming back!”

Below is his statement;

Apparently our folks in government haven’t got a thick skin (elephants without thick skin?) They are not only afraid of JM 2020, but they are also unable to take JM’s messages on the campaign tour.

It is also obvious that the notice we served on Vice President Bawumia in that press statement that we will respond to him in equal measure has unsettled them.

All of a sudden, they are claiming on radio that I have in my possession a vehicle belonging to the state.

For the avoidance of doubt, I do not have possession of any vehicle belonging to the state. Who does not know that armed soldiers from the seat of govenment stormed my home to forcibly collect two vehicles from me in February 2017?

Those vehicles were investigated by the Police CID headquarters, following which they were returned to me. Fortunately, the present head of Police CID was very much involved in that investigation and subsequent release of the cars.

It therefore beats my mind that all of a sudden (and two years into a tenure of four years), govenment is claiming that I have a vehicle belonging to the state. I do not have any such vehicle, unless they are suggesting that the Police CID HQ investigators did a poor job.

In any case the cowards who stormed my home with arms to collect the two cars, just dumped them at Police CID headquarters, and never stepped there again. They just dumped the cars at police headquarters and left after I had pointed out that the Flagstaff House is not the appropriate office for carrying out investigation into allegations of crime.

If this is intended to court controversy for me and to be cowed, then government got it all wrong!

In the mean time, the John Mahama 2020 campaign is thickening with thunderous support and goodwill. He is coming back!
