2022 road to Damang has started with the First ever Samsung PGA Captain’s prize pro-competition which teed off at Celebrity Golf Course in Sakumono from 12th January 2022 to 15th saw Vincent Torgah being crowned champion with an incredible performance of -14 followed by his younger brother, Francis Torgah in the second place beaten Emos Korblah by just a shot.
After scoring six-under (-6) over four days to place 2nd, playing against his big brother (Vincent Torgah), Emos Koblah, Biggie Chibvurie, in the last & final round off on the course, Francis Torgah spoke to TV XYZ and power sports claiming he has learnt a lot from his competitors.
When asked whether he was playing against the course or his competitors, he stated “On the last day, you don’t play against the course but against the players because it’s the last day. At a point, I was playing with the opponent just to keep my pace, but on the last day, I changed my strategy which helped me a lot”
He added, “Since my golf career this has been my strongest pressure I had to face because playing with West African Nō1 (Vincent Torgah) & playing with Emos Korblah, the most experience regular golfer now in Ghana as well and just beating him by a stroke, you can just imagine the pressure”.
He concluded with the hope that Ghanaian pros will very soon be at European tournament raising the flag high to inspire the younger ones
