Over 70 suspected persons have been arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command in the Central Region in a swoop.
The Police Command indicated that the swoop forms part of measures to intensify security in Kasoa to reduce the continrampant killings and robbery attacks in the area.
Some of these suspected criminals were arrested at weed-smoking bases while some were also hiding at the cemetery with their bags and mats.
Over 200 motorbicycles were also seized by the police with some unregistered and others with no documents and insurance on them.
Over 200 additional police personnel have been deployed to Kasoa to clampdown on criminals, the Police Command further noted.
Additionally, intensive monitoring has been made with a proper assessment to demolish all weed and smoking centers in Kasoa.
Landlords are encouraged to consult immigration officers before providing shelter to foreigners for rent to ensure that the occupants are not criminals.
Meanwhile, all the suspected criminals have been put in police custody and will be arraigned before the court for judgment.
