One of the controversial cases that have been in the social space for so long has been the Airbus Scandal. Many have implicated the brother of ex-president Samuel Mahama.
Later many pointed hands at John Mahama as Official One in the scandal that had deep roots in the United Kingdom. Ghana is 2 days from its general elections and a lot of fake news is spreading for political gains.
Last month news broke that UK-based Guardian newspaper has featured John Mahama on its front page and implicated him in the airbus scandal. According to the news that spread the newspaper featured the ex-president on November 24, 2020. This generated so much debate in the country.
Well Citi FM, a leading media house decided to fact check the information as it had gone viral on social media.
Citi FM visited the newspaper’s website and checked the front pages of the previous editions of the newspaper. To their surprise, the title was totally different from what was being disseminated in Ghana.
Check out what the ‘Guardian’ newspaper published on that fateful day of November 24, 2020;
This vindicates the former president who has been attacked for being featured negatively. It will vindicate him from the newspaper but might not necessarily clear his name from the real scandal until investigations finally point to that.
