Maybe your 3 interchanges are built in your flight – Magoo fires Akufo-Addo.

A former deputy spokesperson for the John Mahama 2020 campaign, Magaret Ansei has rubbished the claim that the Pokuase interchange is the brainchild of the Akufo-Addo government.

Madam Ansei who was reacting to the commissioning of the four-tier Pokuase Interchange on Friday, July 9, 2021 on Inside Politics on Power FM, noted that the President erred for not inviting former president John Mahama to the event.

She said the Mahama administration secured funding from the African Development Bank for the interchange to be constructed so the claim by the President cannot be true.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo once again took a swipe at former President John Dramani Mahama over the construction of some interchanges in the country today at Pokuase.

According to the President, his government is building three interchanges with an amount of $289 million, while the erstwhile Mahama administration built only one interchange with almost the same amount.

President Akufo-Addo made the comparison when he commissioned the four-tier Pokuase Interchange on Friday, July 9, 2021.

“It is important to put on record that the original contract design [for the Pokuase interchange] was for a three-tier interchange, however through efficient management by my government the interchange was modified to a four-tier interchange within the same contract sum.”

“Indeed, $289 million has been used by the Akufo-Addo government to construct three interchanges (at Pokuase, Obetsebi Lamptey, and Tamale) as opposed to $260 million used by the Mahama government to construct only the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange. These are further examples of the fact that we in the NPP are good protectors of the public purse,” he stated.

But Madam Ansei who is affectionately called Magoo challenged the Akufo-Addo to tell the world the interchange he has built from scratch.

“Maybe the interchanges he has built are in his airplane he hires whenever he is traveling abroad,” she fumed as he descended heavily on the President for “lying to Ghanaians.”

He said the Tamale Interchange has not been completed so he does not understand why the President would deny Mahama the glory of the Pokuase interchange.
