NDC boycotting IPAC Meeting laudable – Pedro

A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) national communication team, Frank Pedro Asare has commended his party leadership for boycotting a meeting with the Electoral Commission (EC).

The NDC refused to honour an invitation to an Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting Wednesday that was to discuss the fallouts of he 2020 general elections.

The NDC boycotted the meeting on the count that the leadership of the Electoral commission supervised the total manipulation and the rigging of the 2020 elections.

Despite mixed feelings about the decision of the NDC Pedro Asare believes the party was right.

Speaking on the Morning Update on TV XYZ Pedro Asare stated the move by the alternative party in going into 2024 elections was very laudable.

He said the posture of  EC Boss, Jean Mensa, and her deputy, Dr Bossman Asare’s inane decision in compiling a new voter’s register at time COVID-19 cases in the country kept escalating contributed to the rigging agenda of the Commission.

Pedro accounted that the elections was not conducted on free and fair grounds and so it will never be appropriate for the NDC to go into agreement with the EC at an IPAC meeting to review the 2020 general elections.

“The elections that resorted to numerous violence against innocent Ghanaians at the verge of some people losing their lives cannot be said to be peaceful and free and fair hence the need for the NDC to boycott the IPAC meeting” he asserted

He cautioned the Electoral Commission to stick to the principle of credibility, impartiality so as to conduct free and fair election in future because discerning Ghanaians would not succumb to their biases in the next elections.
