NDC Northern regional chairman dead

The Northern Regional chairman of the NDC Alhaji Abdulai Ibrahim Mobila has died.

The popular politician, according to reports, died while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Tamale Teaching Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

According to Starr News, a family source indicated that the burial of the late chairman  will commence in line with Islamic tradition since he was a Muslim.

He was the Chief of Tugu-Yapala in the Dagbon Traditional Area.

Alhaji Mobila, 82 was also a commercial farmer in the region and was instrumental in the activities of the party at all times.

He was elected as the Northern Regional Chairman of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in September 2018.

He polled 493 votes, representing 50 per cent of the total votes cast, while his main contender, Godfred A. Wumbei, popularly known as ‘Yellow Man’.

Chairman Mobila is said to be the political Godfather of the Minority Leader of parliament and Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu.
