Don’t scrap Double Track, Free SHS will collapse – Kweku Baako Jnr

The implementation and sustainability of higher organizational and academic standards. We would eliminate the double-track system to do this.

However, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper who contributed to a panel discussion on the morning show ‘Kokrokoo’ of Peace FM claimed that since it goes hand in hand with the Free SHS scheme, it is difficult to scrap the double-track system.

You cancel the double track and you’re going to kill the baby (Free SHS), “according to him.”

The NDC has also been urged by Kweku Baako to include a time frame and a roadmap for how to eliminate the double-track system.

“Double-track is essential even though a transitional feature of the Free SHS, you toy with the idea that you’ll cancel but you don’t give a time frame. I think this government gave a time frame (5 years) to phase out the double-track system. This was a pragmatic reaction to a herculean task. The NDC should tell us when they will cancel the double-track system. What is the time frame, one, two, or three years? In fact, it is an unrealistic proposition, it ought not to be canvassed. If you put this in your manifesto and you proceed on that you’ll within a year collapse the system.”
