Kpone Chief tells Mahama not to lie like the others and do as he’s promised

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will find it tough, this week, trying to paint President Akufo-Addo as an honest leader as some Chiefs tell  the oposition NDC leader, John Mahama not to lie like others when voted to power.

The Paramount Chief of the Kpone Traditional Council, Nii Tetteh Otu II, who urged former President Mahama to go by his promises and not lie like others seems to be the latest idiomatic expression that does not need further explanation for Ghanaians to understand that the Akufo-Addo administration has disappointed the people in the area.

Calling on the Chief and people of the area at Kpone Katamanso as part of his tour of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Otu II advised Mahama to rather  fulfill all campaign promises he has made to the people of Ghana.

“Do as you have promised when given the nod to lead again,” the Chief added while stressing some political leaders wooed the electorates into voting for them, prior to the 2016 elections but failed to deliver on the promises after assuming power.

Without mincing words, Nii Tetteh Otu II cited policies like the one district, one factory (1D1F), Planting For Food and Jobs, one million, one constituency, among others as policies that are not rolled out well.

Mr Mahama in his speech pledged to fulfill the promises in the NDC manifesto which has the blueprint of the governance Ghanaians will experience when voted to power.

He said he cannot fail Ghanaians when millions of the youth had no jobs while others could not afford primary health care.

The NDC leaderalso added the NDC’s Free Primary Health Care policy will improve life expectancy and preserve human capital for the one million jobs his next government will provide under the Free Apprenticeship programme, the Big Push, which will massively expand infrastructure across the country, and the establishment of factories to add value to the raw materials being produced in the country.
