Barfour Asare Kofi Isreal is a member of the NPP Governing Communications Team in the Jaman South District of the Bono Region who has been flagged for insulting the Queen-mother.
Nana Yaa Ansuaa, Queen Mother of the Drobo Traditional Area, called for Mr. Barfour to be flagged following reports that he had used unprintable words on her person.
This prompted the traditional authorities to give him 40 powerful stakes in the palace to serve as a deterrent to all political communicators who in the name of defending their parties, discredit local authorities and the authority they exercise.
Mr. Barfour was not only flagged, but the traditional authorities also gave a stern warning to withdraw from the use of foul words in his political communication duties or to risk being expelled from their jurisdiction… the traditional area of Drobo.
The genesis of this misfortune for Barfour Asare Kofi Isreal was due to his failure to accept the defeat of Hon Yaw Afful, the sitting Member of Parliament for the Jaman South constituency, who lost to Hon Okofo Darteh of NDC in the parliamentary race.
After that, Mr. Barfour and other NPP officials in the area accused the Drobo Traditional Council of masterminding their defeat, particularly when their preferred candidate, who happened to be their cousin Hon Prince Marfo, lost in the lead-up to the election in the NPP internal parliamentary primaries.
